Comrie/Rimmer Homecomeing

~
Some are calling it the 'game of the year' at Rexall Place. Tonight the Edmonton Oil Kings play host to the Tri City Americans. Edmonton leads the Eastern Conference while The Americans are 2 points back of top running Kamloops in the Western Conference.

When you look into the match up statistically it's even more intriguing. Edmonton is the highest scoring team in the league with 208 goals through 48 games while Tri City is #1 defensively with just 112 goals against this season.

While they are tied for points with 69 which is just 2 back of Kamloops, the Americans are clicking at a .750 win percentage and have 2 games in hand on the Oil Kings.

Tri after Tuesday night's action was still #1 in the CHL with Edmonton holding down the #9 spot in the rankings (which should come out sometime today).

There are 4 players from this game in the top ten of scoring, two off each team. Michael St. Croix of the kings is 3rd with 77 points while Adam Hugheman is 6th with 72.

Backing it all up are some pretty impressive goaltenders as Laurent Brossoit is 2nd in wins with 27 and 4th in goals against average, while the visitors will counter with either Ty Rimmer who's 2.13 goals against average leads the league or 16 year old rookie Eric Comrie who is 8th in the league in GAA. The pair have combined for 8 shut outs this year.

Either way you look at it, this game should be fantastic and it will feature an Edmontonian in net for the visitors. Both Rimmer and Comrie hail from the city of champions. Comrie was born her and moved to Los Angeles when he was 8, while Rimmer is a graduate of the Knights of Columbus AAA midget program. Both players will have plenty of friends and family in attendance tonight no matter who's in net TPS spoke to Comrie on Tuesday night and you can hear the conversation here.
