Head To Head: Jensen Vs. Jurco

~
The NHL draft is fast approaching and we’ve put together some head to head match ups featuring 20 different prospects. We’ve consulted 10 scouts from 10 different organizations to get their opinions in 5 different categories and ultimately, who they would take if they had the final say.

Enjoy these and tune into The Pipeline Show on Saturday June 25th from 10-Noon MST for a complete, in-depth recap of round one and coverage of day 2.

For now here’s H2H: Nicklas Jensen vs. Tomas Jurco

Weight: 187 lbs..........Weight: 187 lbs.
29-29-58 (0.95/PPG)......31-25-56 (0.93/PPG)

Skating: 7-3 Jurco
Offence: 8-2 Jensen
Defence: 10-0 Jensen
Toughness: 8-2 Jensen
Overall: 7-3 Jensen

Who Would You Take?

Jurco - "Jurco because he’s a pure scorer, although Jensen does have decent offence too. The goal Jurco scored at the Memorial Cup, the one from the side of the net and just off the goal line... Jensen has good hands but he couldn’t score that goal. It’s a close one here but I go with Jurco."

Jensen - "I take Jensen because his game got better as the season went on. Jurco's skill is outstanding but his game is like a roller coaster."

Jensen - "Jensen for one simple reason; Jurco takes time off and Jensen is more consistent."

Jensen - "Jensen has better character, he's more self motivated and more driven. Jurco has to be pushed."

Jensen - "I like Jensen a lot more than I like Jurco. Jensen has a lot more consistency to his game whereas Jurco looks really good but doesn’t always execute."

Jurco - "I didn't see either of them enough this year to know for certain but I'd lean towards Jurco because he has unreal hands."

Jensen - "Really tough to pick between these two but Jensen is a better skater. But Jurco is a pretty talented kid, he’s got high-end offensive skills."

Jurco - "Jurco for his raw, offensive skill set. I watched a practice earlier in the playoffs and he just hung out at the end of it to fart around with the puck and it was just sick. Sick, sick, sick what he can do with a puck on his stick. Plus he implements that into his game, he’s not afraid to try and be creative in a game."

Jurco - "This is a good one because they are really similar... I think Jurco’s just a little bit more consistent and his skills are just a little bit better. His hands are better, he’s a better scorer. He’s a fun player to watch. Scouts will be all over the place with those two guys, I know our staff was."
