Blazers Ranford Cross Checks Official Vs. Rockets

~
We are getting reports that Kamloops forward Brendan Ranford was kicked out of the Blazers game tonight with Kelowna for Cross checking a linesman. Midway through the 2nd period, Ranford, a Flyers 2010 draft pick was given a 2 minute slashing penalty and a game misconduct.

I've seen a tweet on this tonight, but a credible source in the name of Regan Bartel who called the game for the Rockets, will join us on Saturday's show to give us a first hand - first rate description of what happened. Bartel certainly has seen some interesting things lately with Rich Preston's passive aggressive water bottle tossing incident.

Ranford was the second last pick in the 2010 draft but has had a phenomenal season with 33 goals and 86 points. The Blazers trail Prince George - who beat Vancouver tonight - by 2 points in the race for 8th. The Cougars have 4 games to go, Kamloops has 3 and if Ranford is suspended for any length of time it could be a crushing blow to their playoff hopes.

We have a text into the WHL and will update this story as it goes.
