Saturday Morning:Game Day Show

Check out this video put out by the you tube channel NHL Draft Video. Their main site is here.

I don't disagree that this years draft isn't as deep as the past 3 but there is definitely some skill in the first round. After you watch that video you will see some terrific goals, including one by our Saturday morning guest Nicklas Jensen. The Dane can dominate games and has for the Oshawa Generals this year with 26 goals, 25 assists in 51 games, along with a +15 rating. He's ranked 20th by NHL Central Scouting among North American skaters, and 10th overall by ISS.

We'll also recap the Friday night win for St. Louis over Edmonton with Ben Bishop, Alex Pietrangelo and Kevin Shattenkirk. I'm really impressed with the Blues and where they're going. Big, fast with a skilled blueline.

Craig West is the voice of the Tri City Americans who have a big one against Spokane Saturday night. Brendan Shinniman would most likely be leading the league in scoring had he not been suspended 12 games for a terrible hit from behind. He's put up 79 points in 47 games and sits 8th in league scoring. The Ams are comfortably sitting 4th in the Western Conference with a shot at catching the 3rd place Chiefs.

Our NHL Insider Daren Millard of Rogers Sportsnet will fill us in on what he's hearing as the trade deadline approaches. How will they fill time most of hte deals are already done? Both Daren and I watched Taylor Hall in the Mastercard Memorial Cup last year and aside from last night's game he's starting to resemble the player who was a two time Memorial Cup MVP.

We'll go 'Behind The Mic' with Mike Machnik the colour man for the Merrimack Warriors who have never been higher in any rankings then right now sitting 4th. They are loaded with Western Canadians, a talented French import, and one Oilers draft pick.

All throughout Saturday's show we'll be auctioning off a pair of tickets to the Edmonton- Boston:Taylor Vs. Tyler game on Sunday along with a Moosehead prize pack. The proceeds of the tickets will go to the Gordie & Colleen Howe fund for Alzheimer's This was made possible by our good friends at J & J Wholesale Auto who will drop the GST on any vehicle purchased on Saturday, if you drop The Pipeline Show name.

If you have a question for us or any of our guests, drop us a line pipeup@theteam1260.com. 10-12 mst (noon-2 est) on the TEAM 1260 in Edmonton or online www.thepipelineshow.com
